Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples when it comes to the IRS for tax purposes. Then again, religious organizations should not be forced to marry non-hetero couples for fear of discrimination lawsuits. This is purely a case of "Separation of Church and State". We respectfully ask the following:
The IRS should abolish the word "Married" and replace it with "Union". Any couple wanting to be recognized as a union for tax purposes will have that right, and would have the same rights as other couples. This would retroactively free the United States Government from being involved with religious matters, since it's no longer a State/US issue, but now a religious issue. Every religious organizations will have the right to marry any couple they wish.
