Allow restaurants to give unserved food to the homeless each day rather than throwing it in the dumpster.

Created by P.L. on February 09, 2014

Currently, it is illegal for restaurants to give away unserved, prepared foods, such as rolls, baked potatoes, donuts, and any other foods that may be prepared for the day's service and not used. At the end of the day, perfectly good food must be thrown in the trash. A process should be put in place to allow pickup and delivery of these foods to homeless shelters and food lines. Let's be smart on how we handle our waste. This could take care of the hungry in this country.
