I recently talked with a friend whom parents are retired and need their Medicare for medical treatment. Because of their age and need for Medicare, they are not able to live out their retirement years in their home country Philippines.
The US gov't should work out a way for retirees and pensioners to use their Medicare at hospitals in other countries. As in the case of the Philippines, I'm sure the cost of care and treatment will be 1/4 of the cost here in the US. Thereby, saving the US gov't possibly billions of dollars a year in medical cost.
Allow retirees and pensioners to live in the country of their choice and receive medical care in an approved medical facility...
This would allow thousands to live in comfort.
