At this point in time we view our various forms of discrimination (racism, sexism) with disgust and regret. I'd like to argue that in 20 years, our country will feel the same way about the past and current discrimination towards the LGBTQ community. Same sex couples experience the same love as a hetero couple, and the LGBTQ community would like to petition for equal treatment and the opportunity to marry and obtain the same privileges that married couples enjoy together. I, like many others, call forth the argument that queer people are born the way they are and deserve equal rights in our country as married couples. Rather than wait for each of the 50 states to legalize gay marriage, I call for a legalization at the federal level.
