Allow same sex marriage and end unfair housing and business discrimination in Louisiana

Created by A.M. on March 23, 2015

It is unfair that homosexual individuals are not treated equally in modern society, despite the government strongly showing anti-discriminatory views in the past. Louisiana is one of the few states which does not allow same sex marriage. This robs individuals of equal opportunities. Similarly, Louisiana is one of the few states where homosexuals can legally be fired because of their sexual orientation by privately run businesses. They can also legally be evicted due to their sexual orientation. In the past it has often been argued that this is fair due to religious views. Although we have the freedom of our own religion, it should not restrict the freedom of others to pursue careers, shelter, and the right to marry. It is time to end cruel, hurtful, and unjust discrimination.
