It is essential to the United States to provide civil liberties to ALL of its inhabitants (which INCLUDES those who would like to marry who they love). People have made a big deal about the situation as if it would actually affect their marriage or their families.
Think about it. If you allow gay marriage, you'll make way for those who would love to adopt kids who have been tossed out like trash, those who have not been able to visit their lovers in hospitals because they are not married, etc. It is also another way to establish love and care throughout our country!
We must learn how to accept those who are different no matter what. It is essential to our well-being.
