On one hand, the U.S. government says cannabis has no medicinal value at all and on the other hand, the FDA approves "Marinol" which is synthetic THC, one of the compounds in cannabis. That, is hypocritical and unjust. There are many compounds in cannabis (especially CBD) that have been proven by empirical studies in other countries that cannabis can successfully treat several medical conditions. "Reefer Madness" syndrome permeates Congress and they have no factual knowledge of the benefit of the plant. Cannabis is not as deadly as alcohol or tobacco by any stretch of the imaginatinon. Reschedule cannabis, decriminalize and regulate, tax, it and provide similar penalties as on the books for abuse of alcohol. The Drug War is a failure, except for the cartels who are thriving.
