It is commonly felt in rural Illinois that the politicians of Chicago do not have our best interests in mind. Rules and regulations befitting the urban environment do not necessarily make sense in rural areas. Pet laws, firearm laws, and tax rates are among those items with differences of views within the population. Also the electorate college votes sway with the residents of Chicago and seem to completely ignore the residents in the rest of the state. The history of corrupt politicians coming from Chicago seem to preclude the possibility of quality leadership from withing the state for the entirety of the state so we believe that leadership from rural Illinois would be more appropriate so that every citizen can feel assured that their voice is being heard.
