Since the early 1990s the only people carrying guns on military bases are Military Police. Even most officers are forbidden to carry sidearms. TWICE in the last few years we have had people walk right past "No Guns Allowed" rules and use them on our military bases, against our military members who are not allowed to have guns on base.
If a roomful of infantry soldiers had guns before they left for the war zone overseas, Hasan would not have killed so many. Now we have *another* mass shooting on a 'gun free zone' military base. We see how well the gun-free action works. Allow those best trained in use of arms to have them - self defense is the right of free men, but the ones we train to shoot are denied the most effective tool to defend themselves on post. How is this fair?
