Currently, single parents are not allowed to join the military without first giving up custody of their dependent (s) to someone else. Single parents are not unlike anyone else trying to join the military. We want to serve our country and create better lives for ourselves too. We should not be denied the right to join as an active member of the military simply because we have children.
