Military Members are trained to use sidearms in combat but are not allowed to carry while on post. While we don't believe that everyone should be allowed to those who take the time to go to training and pass background checks should be able to so they can respond instantly to a threat. Soldiers wishing to carry would have to schedule their own mental evaluation to submit to a post level authority. If at any time the Leadership of that Soldier feels they are not capable of carrying they can suspend the privilege. If the Soldier feels they are unjustly having their privileges suspended they can appeal to the post level approving authority to reinstate their privilege. Too many times recently have we been victims of these shootings. We are trained to protect ourselves and others. Let us.
