With the population of America surpassing 300 million, the representation in the 435 member House of Representatives amounts to 1 politician supposedly standing for the views and beliefs of approximately 700,000 individuals. Soon, the population will reach 435 million, meaning 1 congressman for every 1 million citizens. This is not a representative government. The only way to return to a truly representative government is to decentralize into smaller republics. When this occurs, the average citizen with have more civil liberties and a louder voice in the legislative process.
