We, the people and citizens of the state of Texas, request to peacefully secede from the United States of America, and to form a new government established and voted upon by the citizens of Texas.
This request is regrettably made out of necessity to ensure that the citizens of Texas continue to enjoy the freedoms, liberties, and rights that were established and given to us by our Creator. For too long our God-given rights and freedoms have been slowly eroded by a massive and swollen federal government that has lost its vision of "...by the people, for the people".
It is now evident that the elected leaders of the United States are no longer concerned with balancing the budget, control spending, and ensuring that every man and woman has the ability to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.
