Allow the state of Texas to print state currency backed by Gold. This will hedge the citizens of Texas against the coming decline and fall of the US dollar. Fiat currency has no intrinsic value because it is only backed by a federal government that is deeply in debt and will be utterly unable to meet its financial obligations shortly. Thus the value of the dollar will exponentially escalate resulting in sudden and catastrophic devaluation of the dollar.
