Many progressives, liberals and probably moderates have had it up to here with the anti-modern, anti-science, anti-progress, anti-everything-unfamiliar Luddites and blowhards of the old Confederacy. We're tired of their stubbornness, with their intolerance, with their with whack conspiracy theories, with their belligerence, and with the ease with which they resort to blackmail, threats and sedition when they lose elections. We're both amused and disgusted by their hypocrisy of inveighing against the federal government while happily taking more from the government than they pay in taxes.
Basta! We've had enough. They want to secede? Let 'em go. They can let God provide. The rest of us will pay taxes for things we need.
