Allow the states of CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT (as well as DC) to secede peacefully from the U.S.

For too long, the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, as well as the District of Columbia, have been held back by the intolerance and economic backwardness of the Southern and Midwestern regions of the United States. Please allow the states listed above to move forward with sensible laws governing: health care, civil rights, gun control, transportation development, labor rights, pollution, financial regulation, animal rights, economic stimulus, and related issues by permitting them to form a new government, separate from the pernicious influence of other regions within the United States.
