Our country is a republic but the ideals of democracy still exist. The future of our precious amendment should not be left up to a bunch of government officials who constitute less than 1% of our nation. It also should not be given to people who strongly voice out against gun control and yet have no clue, do not own a firearm, and are not in neighborhoods with fire arm prevalence. It should be left to the people to decide. Hopefully we will make the right choice and not let the only power that backs our constitution be stripped away from us.
