For years, the federal government has threatened to reduce federal highway funding apportionments to states who wish to lower the drinking age. This practice has essentially been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, who ruled that the federal government could not withhold existing federal funds for states (King v. Burwell)
This pokes a large hole in the constitutionality of the original National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 and we ask that this law be revisited and reexamined by lawmakers.
