Allow Student Loans to be Paid with Pre-tax Dollars.

Created by C.Q. on October 20, 2011

Individuals should be permitted to repay their student loan debt using pre-tax dollars. Tuition and education expenses can already be paid with pre-tax dollars when they are saved for in advance with certain college savings plans. Not everyone’s circumstances allow them to save for education in advance. This benefit should be extended to the repayment of all student loans. Allowing student loans to be paid with pre-tax dollars will help ease the burden of student loan debt. This will help reduce the number of student loan defaults and empower individuals to further take responsibility for their debt. This would serve to make student loans more affordable for many and also likely accelerate the repayment of student loans which would in turn assist in getting our economy back on track!
