In 2013 the student loan deduction, for interest charged on college student loans will will revert to an older law in which student loan interest will be deductible only for the first 60 months of repayment.
I propose we put into place a full loan life deduction that allows for low income students plus family size to play a role in tax deductions based on the interest of these loans, both public and private. (up to the full amount of interest for each year)
Students that have invested in their future have invested in our country's future by taking out loans. Individual students and families burdened by this debt, without tax relief, will suffer for trying to better their lives, their family's and the overall most important American resource that betters our country, college education.
