Allow Students under 24 to clam independent Status under FASFA and give legitimate independent students a chance

My petition would re wright the current FASFA guidelines that state students under 24 must accrue there parents tax information to have accesses to financial aid. i believe this current legislation hinders legitimate independent students from accruing the financial aid and work-study we desperately need. i believe if the federal government would just add legislation that would allow students to show independent status through proof of independent residence or lack of parental contribution would be a revolutionary change. more importantly the more students who have accesses to a quality college education will intern crate better quality workers and job creators. and once again america will be the shining light upon the hill that ushers in change
