In the not to distant past the interest rates ( 15% to nearly 30%) currently charged by credit card issuing banks was considered usury as well as a felony. I feel the playing field should be leveled a bit by allowing the average tax payer to deduct some percentage of these excessive interest payments on their annual tax returns.
