The US taxpayer should be allowed to direct a portion of their taxes paid to be spent toward whichever agency or interest they see fit. There would be a great satisfaction enjoyed by taxpayers if they were allowed to earmark a percentage, say 2%-3%, of their taxes to supporting those issues that are most dear to them.
