After the horrific school shooting that occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 14, 2012, it is obvious that we are not doing enough to protect our children while at school. Teachers and school administrators should have the ability and the right to be trained and armed with a firearm to protect the lives of students. Armed criminals will be less likely to attempt a school shooting if this were the case. If a school shooter did manage to find his way onto a school campus, surely the destruction that he may cause would be greatly lessened if teachers and administrators were armed. Please allow school districts to train and arm their faculty and staff, so another tragedy like the one in Newtown does not occur again on American soil.
