Teacher are vital to the safety of our children!! No matter how hard they may try to keep the classroom a safe place to learn ... incidents happen. The kids get into scuffles and it's the teachers job to stop it and minimize the damage. When they go on field trips the parents trusts EVERY EFFORT is being made to keep their child safe.
I'm not sure of the motive of this recent incident but that doesn't matter... HE WAS INSANE!!! An armed faculty member may have been able to minimize the tragedy. I say minimize because, they probably couldn't have stopped him till the perpetrators intention was known. We are not going to stop someone from getting an illegal gun, bat, or knife. Give the teachers the tools to do their job of Keeping our children safe!!!!
