Allow teachers to carry firearms to protect their students in the event of a crisis like the one in Connecticut

This would serve to act as a deterrent as well as enable educators the ability to defend themselves and their children. The police take too long to respond to violent crimes and cannot be everywhere. If this law were in place the day of the shooting the innocent causalities would have been less. Teachers could "Opt Out" but those who did choose to carry a firearm would have to go through comprehensive firearm training
