While it may seem controversial, I believe allowing teachers to be armed at school is the only way to ultimately stop these tragic school shootings from happening.
Taking away our 2nd amendment rights, researching and treating mental illness, and putting more locks on doors isn't going to do anything. Our children deserve to have someone willing to do what it takes to protect their lives.
As the petition asking Obama to restrict our gun control laws is gaining popularity, please take a minute to think about this. Keeping the guns out of kids' hands shouldn't be a concern. Do you feel nervous for your child to be around a police officer for fear he or she might be able to get the officer's gun? No. They can be concealed and/or kept out of reach.
Remember...guns DON'T kill people.
