allow teenage parents ages 16+ to obtain jobs requiring one to be 18 years of age.

Created by P.Z. on March 28, 2016

I am 17 years old and I got pregnant in November of 2015. Currently 21 weeks pregnant, it has been nearly impossible to find work. Fast food jobs and retail jobs are extremely hard on a pregnant woman, especially when you are a high risk pregnancy. When you are age 17 and under, you are automatically categorized to be considered a high risk pregnancy. When interviewing for jobs that I almost got, they noticed I was 17 and said their hands were tied. However, I won't give up, and I won't be another teen mom statistic.
With this petition, I wish for there to be a labor law that allows pregnant teenagers/teen parents 16+ to work jobs that require you to be 18 to break the cycle of poverty, break the stigma of teen parents, and allow teens in adult situations to work as any other adult has to.
