The treaty of annexation and Texas constitution allow Texas to divide into 5 states. The US constitution requires the house of representatives to ratify such a division.
This division would ensure adequate representation to the people of Texas with an increase in US Senators and Representatives. If the state of Texas petitions the Congress for division, please support our decision
