Currently a presidential candidate must have at least 15% support in national polls in order to participate in the debates. This absurdly high number unfairly excludes candidates and tips the scales in favor of the Democrats and Republicans. It is especially crucial during this time of government and media corruption and divisive politics that the American people be given the opportunity to hear the voices and ideas from those who are outside of two-party system. Further, third party candidates can provide answers to questions that the American people don't even realize we should be asking -- and ones that Washington doesn't want us asking. If a candidate is eligible to receive public funding with just 5% support, they should also be given a spot in the debate.
