I would like the ability to voluntarily submit myself to the federal database so that I can't own a gun. As someone who is bi-polar, and in the wake of recent tragedies, I recognize that I do not need to own a gun. In order to be on the federal database a judge must declare me a danger to myself or others and the state that I live in must submit my records to the federal government for processing.
To my knowledge this has never been done.
Allowing those of us who are mentally ill to submit ourselves to the data base and give up our right to bear arms is a simple step that should have been done a long time ago.
