Allow tow trucks to run colors in their light bars other than amber for their own safety.

Created by A.W. on January 29, 2014

Way too often do we see tow truck operators being struck or killed on the side of the highway. Did you know that between 50 & 100 tow truck operators are killed every year on the road? That is more than EMS, Firefighters, and police! This is due to lack of attention. Not only do tow trucks run lights, but maintenance vehicles, snow plows, commercial vehicles, etc. run amber lights. The meaning of the amber light has become ignored because you see it everywhere. Tow Truck Operators need the extra lights to keep them safe on the side of the road and to warn motorists to either slow down, or move over into the next lane.
