After the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, transgender people are still excluded from serving their country in the military. Many of the reasons why (as cited by the military) are based off of a narrow mindset and are unjust. Transgender people do not suffer from mental illness (gender dysphoria is not classified as a mental illness), and should be allowed to openly serve their country in the military. We ask that you reform DoD policy to allow transgender men and women to serve their country.
