Dear President Obama,
My name is Caroline Clark, and on behalf of my best friend of several years, Kris, I plead that you will give all transgender students the right to choose whichever sporting team they wish to be on, regardless of whether they've transitioned or not. As he's only 15, he is not currently going through hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and hasn't had sexual reassignment surgery (SRS). His school (Indian Trail High School and Academy) is demanding that in order to join the boys volleyball team, he must be on testosterone, and have his name legally changed. By the time he has completed the things the school stipulates, Kris will have completed his high school education. He just wants to play boys volleyball.
Please allow freedom of gender expression in public schools.
