Allow troops to carry weapons on post, this will deter gunmen from trying to kill innocents like on Fort Hood.

We the people petition military personnel on base to be allowed to carry weapons while on base in uniform. Said military personnel should be an E4 or higher with a clean record. As of today there have been 2 shootings at Fort Hood in 4 years. This is ridiculous that our trained and experienced military family is being gunned down on base. A military base should be the last place a gunman would think about going to kill innocent people. A gunman should be scared out of his wits to try something as stupid as that, but isn't, because our troops at home are not armed on base. Let's change that and prevent another shooting.
