Israel and Palestine will never come to a mutually agreed upon resolution to their territorial wars. As long as there is no incentive for Israel to stop annexing Palestinian lands, they will continue to do so. Allowing the UN to recognize Palestinian statehood would make evicting Palestinians from their homes or, perhaps worse, bulldozing those homes unacceptable by international law.
