The Department of the Navy's response to sequestration was to cease future enrollment in tuition assistance for active duty service members and their spouses. This response is an outrage. Service members transitioning into the civilian world need education and the only means provided to United States Marines has been removed.
The Marine Corps offers several programs to support education goals, but decided to remove the 100% Tuition Assistance for college courses taken during off-duty hours because of congress's act responsibly.
