This is a petition to have the US Department of Treasury's sanctions prohibiting spending money in Cuba ended. It is also a petition to request unrestricted passage of US citizens to travel to/from Cuba.
Why?
The sanctions are outdated. The Cold War ended in 1991.
Cuba is no longer a threat to us. Fidel Castro is out of power and the regime is sure to fall at some point in the future.
There are a number of countries in the world that restrict human rights of their people in one form or another, but the US doesn't have travel sanctions against them.
Cuba is a beautiful country, with an amazing culture and people, about which US citizens could benefit knowing. Let's put an end to the travel restrictions.
