Allow us to sign in opposition to petitions

Created by N.G. on January 16, 2013

The Obama Administration should allow visitors of petitions.whitehouse.gov to not only endorse a petition by signing it but also oppose a petition on the same page.
This will group the count of people that support and that oppose a petition instead of separating them into two different petitions. It will also allow the general population to express its displeasure with the minority compelled to create ridiculous petitions.
In addition, we recommend reforming the system of responding to petitions to include the count of opposing signatures. We believe a petition warrants a response if it is popular, as the current system reflects, as well as if it is controversial but comes slightly short of the required number of signatures.
