Allow the use of military police or funding for private company armed security at recruiting depots across the nation

This petition is designed to increase the protection of our service members who are assigned to recruiting duties within the United States and its Territories. This petition would assign military police or private armed security guards at the recruiting depots to protect the unarmed service members. No service member should be left exposed to violent attacks by domestic terrorists as those were in Chattanooga, TN. Members are prohibited from carrying firearms while on duty unless acting in their official capacity. Assigning active duty MP's or private armed security would mitigate vulnerabilities at recruiting depots and allow a swift response to the threat where local police departments cannot respond due to under staffing and being over worked. We owe it to our men and women on duty.
