To allow the VA's Health system to accept Medicare payments so that more dental and medical benefits may be made available to the veterans and their families. That this be made available to all veterans and their families no matter the length of service. Currently, the VA records whether or not the Veteran is receiving or qualifies for Medicare, but the system is not allowed to seek repayment from Medicare. This makes no since for Veterans who receive, for instance, SSA disability but not VA Disability. Furthermore, it would allow all veterans access to health care - should they qualify for Medicare. It would also supplement the VA budget and allow the VA to expand benefits, including dental to all veterans and perhaps the families of veterans. The VA would also be able to hire more.
