Let me start with some background. My name is Michael. I served in Iraq for two tours as a Combat Engineer. My second deployment, I was married. This wonderful woman, Donna, stuck by me through this deployment. Donna worried everyday whether I would come home or if the next call or knock at the door meant something had happened to me. Donna was there when I returned home. Donna dealt with me through EVERYTHING.
I am a veteran so this does not apply to me. It applies to her. Under your precious Affordable Care Act, Donna makes too much to get help with the cost of healthcare or be eligible for Medicaid. My question is very simple: What about her? She deals with more and more every day because my own health is deteriorating. She still stands beside me. Who’s standing beside her?
