Allow veterans to carry over their military training to civilian life. (Firearms and vehicle licensing.)

Created by B.K. on February 10, 2014

I am am Iraq veteran and hold valid licenses to drive a 7 ton, MRAP and hazmat endorsements with the USMC. I find it despicable to be forced into getting a NYS CDL even though I have the military equivalent. It should be nationwide that all military drivers licenses signed by a commanding officer be honored by the state.

I also had to go to an NRA pistol safety course recently which was another insult of my intelligence and military training. Veterans should be excluded from such firearms safety courses nationwide and only required to fill out the paperwork and pay the money for their pistol permits.
