Currently about 22 veterans per day commit suicide. The numbers are much higher as not all states report, and the current information is based a report from 2012.
Veterans deserve to choose their options for treatment. To tell us that the only solution we have available to us for treatment for issues like PTSD is drugs and disability for the rest of our lives is wrong. Allow us to choose treatments and healing modalities that work. Allow us to have options that previously weren't available to us.
Instead of formulating policy for veterans based on what various veterans groups are saying, talk to the veterans who are actually having these issues are dealing with. Most veterans groups are out of touch with veterans. It time to also allow us choice in where we receive care.
