We the people of Virginia, peacefully petition the federal government to allow us to secede from the United States in America in order to found our own self-governing state. The federal government has instituted a policy of blatant disrespect for our civil rights and civil liberties as United States citizens, with the passage of the PATRIOT Act, NDAA, and the TSA at our airports.
We are also tired of the consistently growing size of the government, when it comes to economics policies, such as bailouts and regulations. The free-market is corrupted by banks and large corporations who lobby to create a monopoly on the economy.
We are also fed up with our sons and daughters dying in foreign wars that the majority of the population does not support, and that the president has expanded.
