allow vitamins to be considered medical expenses for HSA/FSA and/or income tax purposes.

Created by C.S. on January 28, 2013

Allow the use of HSA/FSA funds to purchase vitamins by being able to consider them a medical expense for these purposes. Per publication 502, vitamins are for the purpose of "maintaining health".To not get a tax benefit of making healthy choices (which removes burden from the health care system) is a slight injustice to those making life-improving decisions. This would be an incentive for everyone to lessen the blow on preventative health, get the proper nutrients, and have minimal effect on the government's overall budget.
