Voter ID Opt-in. Allowing for the individual OPTION to require ID when voting is a sensible idea. People who are against voter ID laws would be satisfied that people are not turned away from voting. People who are for voter ID laws would be satisfied that their personal vote is covered and that others have the same opportunity. Win-Win.
Anyone opting in (which would itself require an ID to prevent unauthorized sign-up) would have their name or address marked to indicate that an ID is required for voting.
If the voter registry list can be trusted, then so can marking those voters who request the ID opt-in (ID and signature required for any change).
