allow for a voter ID opt-in. Only people who want there ID checked need it. Everyone else can vote as usual. Win-WIn.

Voter ID Opt-In. Although voter fraud is rare, it would be a good idea to have the individual OPTION of requiring ID for oneself when voting. People who are against voter ID (an understandable position) would be satisfied that people will not be turned away from voting if they do not have an ID. People who demand voter IDs should no longer object since their personal vote is covered and they can't claim that others don't have the same opportunity. Win-Win.

Anyone opting-in (which itself would require an ID to prevent unauthorized sign-up) would have their name or address marked to indicate that an ID is required for voting.

If the voter registry list can be trusted, then so can marking those voters who request this (with a signature required for the change).
