Allow welfare recipients a 6 month gap with full benefits to get on their feet and get insurance after starting a job.

Created by J.K. on November 16, 2012

Welfare is unsuccessful and recipients have a hard time getting off the system because once they start working they lose cash benefits and medicaid. Most employers require an employee be employed for 90 days to six months prior to being eligible for insurance. implementing this policy would help people on welfare get on their feet and make them less likely to quit their job to keep their medicaid. This policy would improve employment rate of those on welfare and reduce the overall cost in the long run for welfare.
