The Wireless Emergency Alert System was put in place without knowledge of or discussion amongst the American People. The system does not allow owners of new smart phones to mute alerts which can arrive in the middle of the night and is intrusive to the daily lives of Americans. As a free people we the people should be allowed to decide how much or how little we wish to be communicated with via our personal technology devices.
The system should be changed to allow complete opt out of ALL messages included the "Presidential Message".
